Overview

The Skills plugin brings a classic MMORPG-inspired skill system to Minecraft, heavily based on Ultima Online. Players improve skills through use, with a total skill cap that forces meaningful specialization choices.

Stats System

Three internal stats are calculated as the average of their related skills. Each stat ranges from 0 to 100.

Internal HP / Mana / Stamina

The plugin manages HP, Mana, and Stamina internally with decimal precision, separate from vanilla mechanics.

Skill Decay

When total skill points reach 600+, gaining a skill causes the least recently used skill to decrease by 0.1. Skills can be locked (UP / DOWN / LOCKED) via /skills lock.

Swordsmanship STR

Sword proficiency. Affects damage with swords.

Main damage multiplier: Skill/100 (0.1–1.0). Essential for all melee/ranged builds.

Damage boost: 0.5 + Skill/100. Critical rate: Skill/2 % (max 50%, 2x damage).

Parrying DEX

Chance to block for 50% damage reduction. Shield: Skill×0.5% (max 50%). Weapon: Skill×0.25% (max 25%).

Moving while shooting: −30% damage. Arrows can only be blocked by shields (not weapons).

PvP Note

Skills do NOT gain from PvP. All combat skills are trained through PvE only. The skills you train against mobs then apply in PvP.

Armor System (UO-style)

Each armor piece has AR (Armor Rating), STR requirement, DEX requirement, and DEX penalty.

Defense Calculation

Damage Reduction = AR / (AR + 50)

Example: AR 40 → 40/90 = 44.4% reduction. With parry success, total reduction = 50% + 44.4% of remainder = 72.2%.

Magic System

UO-style reagent-based magic with 8 circles, Power Words, and a two-phase casting system (CASTING → TARGETING).

Casting Flow

  1. /cast <spell> — Check spellbook, reagents, mana
  2. CASTING phase — Boss bar (blue). Moving >0.5 blocks interrupts.
  3. TARGETING phase — Boss bar (red). Left-click to target, right-click to cancel. 5-second timeout.

Cast Time = (2000ms + Circle × 500ms) × (1 - min(Magery/100 × 0.3, 0.3))

Cast Success Rate

Success = (Magery - Circle × 10) + 50 + INT/5   (min 5%, max 100%)

Scroll bonus: LQ +10%, NQ +20%, HQ +30%, EX +40%.

Repair System (UO-style)

Repairing on an anvil reduces max durability:

Max Durability Loss = (110 - Crafting Skill) / 10
GM (100): loses 1 point. Skill 50: loses 6 points.

Mending Integration

Mending Success Rate = min(100, Crafting Skill × 100 / 60)

Skill 0 = 0%, Skill 30 = 50%, Skill 60+ = 100%. Failed mending gives XP but doesn't repair.

Stack Bonus

Max Stack = 64 + (Crafting + Cooking + Inscription) / 300 × 35

Production skill total of 300 = max stack of 99. Applied on item pickup, chest extract, and login.

Detecting Hidden

/detect — Range: Skill/10 blocks
Detection Rate = Detecting Hidden - target's Hiding + 50% (min 10%, max 95%)

Snooping → Stealing

  1. /snoop → target mode → click player
  2. Snooping check: Snooping - (target's Detecting Hidden / 2) + 20%
  3. Success: view target's inventory GUI
  4. Click item in GUI → Stealing check: Stealing - (target's Detecting Hidden / 2) - stack×2% + 10%
  5. Success: item transferred. Failure: target notified, GUI closed.

Stealing triggers crime recording via Notoriety plugin (soft dependency).

Poisoning

  1. Hold weapon in main hand, have poison potion in inventory
  2. /poison — Success rate = Poisoning skill %
  3. Success: weapon gains poison (Skill/20 charges, max 5). Hits apply 5s poison effect.

Ender Dragon Scaling Respawn
