Overview

The Skills plugin brings a classic MMORPG-inspired skill system to Minecraft. Players improve skills through use, with a total skill cap that forces specialization choices.

Stat Calculation

Stat = (Sum of related skills) / (Number of related skills)

Each stat ranges from 0 to 100 based on the average of its related skills.

Alchemy INT

Potions and brewing.

Food preparation.

Gathering Skills

Mining STR

Mining speed (Haste), Bonus ore chance: Skill/2%, Durability reduction

Also covers digging soft blocks with shovels (dirt, sand, gravel, etc.)

Gain: Mine ores, dig with shovel

Lumberjacking STR

Chopping speed (Haste), Chain chopping (auto-chop connected logs)

Gain: Chop logs

Fishing DEX

Auto-fishing with skill-based probability.

Gain: Catch fish

Farming DEX

Auto-replant + Auto-growth (skill-based bone meal effect)

Gain: Harvest crops, till soil

Survival Skills

※ Environmental damage maintains vanilla lethality. STR HP bonus benefit limited to 20% (80% scales with damage). Skill 100 = complete immunity.

Damage Multiplier = 0.5 × STR Scale × (1 - Skill/100)
STR Scale = 1.0 + ((maxHP/100 - 1) × 0.8)

Example: STR 25 (maxHP 125), Skill 0
  STR Scale = 1.0 + (0.25 × 0.8) = 1.2
  Damage Multiplier = 0.5 × 1.2 × 1.0 = 0.6
  → Vanilla lethal damage is still nearly lethal (STR benefit ~5%)

Athletics DEX

Fall damage reduction: Skill% reduction (includes elytra crash)

Skill 100 = immune. Gain: Take fall damage

Swimming DEX

Drowning damage reduction: Skill% reduction. Air save: Skill/2% chance

Skill 80+ grants water breathing. Skill 100 = immune. Gain: Take drowning damage

Heat Resistance STR

Fire/lava/lightning damage reduction: Skill% reduction. Burn time reduced by Skill/200%

Skill 95+ chance to extinguish. Skill 100 = immune + instant extinguish. Gain: Take fire damage

Cold Resistance STR

Freeze damage reduction: Skill% reduction. Freeze buildup reduced by Skill/200%

Skill 95+ chance to thaw. Skill 100 = immune + instant thaw. Gain: Take freeze damage

Endurance STR

Suffocation/Explosion/Contact damage reduction: Skill% reduction

Skill 100 = immune. Gain: Take suffocation/explosion/contact damage

Runes

Runes are magical items required for Mark, Recall, and Gate Travel spells. A blank rune must be marked with a location before use.

How to Obtain Runes

Combine Teleport Scroll + Amethyst Shard in your inventory:

  1. Pick up a Teleport Scroll with your cursor
  2. Click on an Amethyst Shard in your inventory
  3. A Blank Rune is created (works in either direction)

No skill required, 100% success rate.

Teleport Scroll sources: Mob drops (Witch, etc.), End City chests, Trial Chamber vaults, or craft with /scribe teleport

How to Use Runes

Runebook

A magical book that can store multiple runes for convenient travel. Works like a chest - freely move runes in and out.

Crafting skills affect the quality and special properties of items you create. Higher skill means better quality and stronger bonuses.

Gathering System

Gathering skills provide bonuses when collecting resources. Higher skill means faster gathering, better drops, and reduced tool durability consumption.

Mining Skill

Mining skill covers both ore mining (pickaxe) and soft block digging (shovel).

Speed Bonus (Haste Effect)

When you start mining ores or digging soft blocks, a Haste effect is applied based on your skill.

At skill 100 (Grandmaster), tool durability never decreases.

Lumberjacking Skill

Chopping logs with axes improves with higher skill. Higher skill allows chain chopping of connected logs.

Fishing Skill

Fishing skill enables automatic fishing. When a fish bites, there's a skill-based chance to auto-reel and auto-recast.

Note

Auto-fishing is a bonus feature. If auto-reel fails, you can still manually reel in the fish (vanilla behavior). The fish only escapes if you don't react in time.

Title Player title based on highest skill. Example: "Grandmaster Swordsman"
H (HP) Current HP / Max HP. Max HP = 100 + STR
M (Mana) Current Mana / Max Mana. Used for spellcasting. Max Mana is fixed at 20
S (Stamina) Current Stamina / Max Stamina. Consumed by sprinting. Max Stamina = 100 + DEX + (Focus/2)
$ (Gold) Only shown when economy system is enabled. Integrates with Vault plugin

Stat Lock Modes

The icon displayed next to each stat indicates its lock mode. When the stat total reaches the cap (225), increasing one stat requires decreasing another.

Icon Mode Description
UP Stat can increase. When at cap, other stats (DOWN or UP mode) will decrease to make room
DOWN Stat can only decrease. Prioritized for reduction when other stats need to increase
LOCKED Stat cannot change at all. Will not increase or decrease

Changing Lock Mode

Use /stats lock <str|dex|int> command to cycle through lock modes.

Cycle order: UP → DOWN → LOCKED → UP...

Plugin Conflict Handling

The scoreboard.conflict_mode setting in config controls behavior when other plugins use the sidebar.
